Janice Marie Teetsell is a member of the South Orange Rotary. She served two terms as a club president, first in 1999-2000 and then in 2006-2007. She served three years as an Assistant District Governor, having served under Governors John Dinan, Ken Meredith and Mike Rabasca. She served as Chair of the District Public Relations Committee for Governor Ted Krisanda.
Janice has served on the District's Youth Exchange Committee, was a member of the Polio Plus Committee, World Community Service Committee, and she was part of the "staff" of Club Ted, the 2004 District Conference. During her time in the Governor-track she has been active on the District Finance Committee, Training Committee, District Foundation Committee, and the Walk for the World Committee, now known as Walk Fest. Janice organized a district-wide membership seminar and was active in the arrangements for the Annual District Assembly. Due to her efforts District 7470 had the highest percentage of club president-elects attend PETS in April when 74% of the District was represented. Janice actively participated in coordinating activities for the recent Group Study Exchange from India and is looking forward to doing even more for the upcoming GSE from Switzerland.
Professionally Janice is a solo attorney in South Orange, focusing on family law, real estate and immigration. Prior to working full-time as an attorney, Janice was Public Information Officer/Assistant Communications Director for the City of Newark, Legislative Liaison for the Division on Women in the NJ Department of Community Affairs, Interim Director of the NJ Division on Women, and Communications Officer at the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. While working for Newark she was producer and host of the weekly television program, "Newark & Reality", broadcast on Channel 9 from 1974 to 1985. She also produced and hosted the radio program "Newark Report" for 18 years. In the mid-90s she was host of the weekly cable show, "New Jersey Issues".
Janice and Bob Teetsell live in East Orange with Foxy, Cleo, Mikey and Idjit. They also have three grown children and three grandchildren.
